The Life is Beautiful Music Festival returns to Downtown Las Vegas this September and people are already gearing up for an epic time in Sin City. With so much going on that weekend, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed when trying to prep for your trip. To help you out, we’re sharing all the latest details and tips on how to make the most of your time at the festival! Here’s everything you need to know about Life is Beautiful.
What You Should Know About Downtown Las Vegas
Downtown Las Vegas is an eclectic part of the city that has undergone an impressive revitalization over the past decade. Once thought of as the “old” part of Vegas, visitors to the area have come to embrace the vintage aspects of the iconic casinos and rich history of the city. Locals have even built up a creative culture that revolves around art, food, music, and community in downtown.
Life is Beautiful has played a significant part in revamping Downtown Las Vegas by bringing in artists of all different backgrounds to inject the city with much-needed energy and creativity. More and more people are visiting downtown, especially now as the Las Vegas Strip becomes increasingly commercial and expensive. Downtown Las Vegas continues the classic Sin City traditions of affordable drinks, stellar food, comfortable accommodations, and a guaranteed good time without all the bells and whistles.
Don’t Plan on Parking Near the Festival
If you think you might get lucky and find a convenient spot on the street when heading to Life is Beautiful, think again! With several blocks closed to accommodate the festival and parking already at a premium, it’s very unlikely that you’ll find parking anywhere close. However, if you happen to stay at Downtown Grand (an exclusive hotel partner with Life is Beautiful), you can park in the structure for free and walk over to the festival in a matter of minutes. We recommend taking advantage of one of the Downtown Grand Life is Beautiful Hotel Packages. Each package includes a room reservation checking in Friday 9/20 and checking out Monday 9/23, as well as 3-Day GA tickets to the festival.
If you have a car and want to get as close as you can to the festival, you’ll find guaranteed parking in the World Market Center lot with shuttles picking up and dropping off festival attendees all weekend long. It will take about 10 minutes from the parking lot to Life is Beautiful with a purchased park & ride pass. You should also consider ride-sharing using Uber or Lyft to get to the festival. Drop-off areas are located just outside the entrance.
Familiarize Yourself with the Lineup
Life is Beautiful consists of several stages across the festival grounds with performing artists going on at the same time. To make sure you don’t miss out on any of your favorite bands or singers, be sure to check out that day’s schedule beforehand so you can plan out your time accordingly. If you have a pass for all three days of the festival, make sure you know who is playing on what day and what times you need to be there, especially if you plan to leave the festival grounds to check out Downtown Las Vegas.
It’s also a good idea to note the distance between the stages and to factor in the time it will take you to walk from one to the other. You may want to leave a performance a little early if you don’t want to miss the opening song of one of your favorite artists. Also, take into account that the festival will be crowded and you may have to make your way through a dense crowd to get around.

Where to Get Affordable Food and Drinks
Life is Beautiful may be well known as a music festival, but it also features some of the best culinary talent and mixologists in Las Vegas. This year will offer more than 70 local and regional restaurants and bars at booths throughout the festival. There will also be multiple food trucks serving everything from authentic tacos to fine-dining lobster mac-and-cheese. These are all great choices if you need to grab a quick bite or drink while on the festival grounds.
If you want to do a little exploring while in Downtown Las Vegas, the options are endless. For food, be sure to check out Pizza Rock, which is only minutes from the festival entrance. The menu features gourmet and traditional pizza, salads, burgers, pasta dishes, local brews, and craft cocktails by award-winning Chef Tony Gemignani. You’ll also want to stop by Hogs & Heifers for a cold drink served by bikini-wearing bartenders who are not afraid to jump up on the bar for a dance when their favorite song comes on!
Wear Comfortable Clothes and Stay Hydrated
September in Las Vegas can be quite warm and dry, so keep that in mind while you’re packing your festival outfits. Even after the sun goes down, temperatures can still be uncomfortably high, especially if you’re not used to the desert heat. You’ll want to wear casual clothing, breathable fabrics, and most importantly, comfortable shoes. Oh, and don’t forget the sunscreen!
It’s also easy to forget to stay hydrated when you’re enjoying a cold beer and your favorite bands. Believe us when we say you will really regret that in the morning! Be sure to hydrate before you head out and drink plenty of water while you’re at the festival. You are allowed to bring two sealed plastic water bottles per person and can refill them at the water stations throughout the festival.
Pack Light and Keep it Simple
The only things you should be bringing with you to Life is Beautiful are the essentials – your phone, portable charger, identification, money, and a water bottle. Don’t plan on bringing anything else because you’ll have to carry it with you the entire time, and you’ll regret that decision pretty quickly.
Also, to enhance safety at the festival this year, Life is Beautiful security will be implementing a strict bag policy. Here are the policy guidelines:
- Small bags, purses, and totes up to 6” x 8” x 3” do not have to be clear.
- Drawstring bags and other bags with only one opening (no pockets) up to 13” x 16” do not have to be clear.
- Backpacks and bags with multiple pockets larger than 6” x 8” x 3” must be made of clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC.
