March 2018 Behind the Canvas – Third Thursday on 3rd
Downtown Grand’s wildly successful monthly street event Third Thursday on 3rd is launching its 2018 return on March 15th. The monthly nighttime food truck experience doubles as a live art activation featuring the valley’s best artists and some of the most unique pieces all in the eclectic landscape of beautiful Downtown Las Vegas.
We sat down with the artists for March’s event, Recycled Propaganda and Jesse Hudson, to get a few hints as to what we can expect.
How would you define your style of art?
Recycled Propaganda: I would say it was socio-political or socio-conscious art, with an underlying aim to promote critical thought.
Jesse Hudson: I explore the development and long-term impact of human behavior, technology, perception, and time.
What do you like most about freestyle art?
Recycled Propaganda: I like how art provides a platform for expressing something in an ambiguous and multi-faceted manner.
Jesse Hudson: I really love that behind a lens of digital matters you can make anything; the knowledge and creativity of the mind is limitless.
What can we expect for Third Thursday on 3rd?
Recycled Propaganda: Live art, a pop-up gallery, and some environmentally based interactive art.
Jesse Hudson: I will be displaying my most recent art series “Crack the Surface”; this project focuses on expressing the emotional suffocation that humans face due to various personal and global issues.
If you were a Leprechaun DJ, what would your Leprechaun DJ name be?
Recycled Propaganda: Blarney Stoned
Jesse Hudson: Five Leaf Clover
Come out for Third Thursday on 3rd on March 15th from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. to purchase one-of-a-kind pieces from the artists and watch the collaboration of the two on their live art installation on 3rd Street.
